BABA-TAIKINA
1 dl maitoa
25 g tuorehiivaa
1 dl sokeria
1 tl suolaa
75 g voita
2 kanamunaa
4 dl vehnäjauhoja
SIIRAPPI
1 appelsiinin mehu & kuori raastettuna
2 dl vettä
3 dl sokeria
rommia kostuttamiseen
Pääsiäisbaba on herkullinen venäläisperäinen hedelmäinen juhlaleivos, joka on täynnä voimakasta makua. Tämä runsasvoimainen vehnänen sisältää runsaasti voita, munia ja sokeria, ja se kostutetaan ihastuttavalla sokeri-rommiliemellä!
1. Esilämmitä uuni 200 asteeseen ja voitele baba-muotit huolellisesti voilla. Lämmitä maito kattilassa, kunnes se on kädenlämpöistä, ja kaada se kulhoon. Lisää tuorehiiva, sokeri ja suola.
2. Sekoita puolet vehnäjauhoista maitoseokseen ja anna taikinan kohota liinan alla noin 10 minuutin ajan.
3. Erottele munien valkuaiset ja keltuaiset erillisiin kulhoihin. Kun taikina on kohonnut, lisää siihen sulanut voi ja keltuaiset. Sekoita hyvin, kunnes taikina on tasaista.
4. Vatkaa valkuaiset kovaksi vaahdoksi sähkövatkaimella. Lisää vaahdot ja loput vehnäjauhot taikinaan. Kaada taikina tasaisesti vuokiin ja anna sen kohota liinan alla 5 minuutin ajan. Paista uunissa noin 35–40 minuuttia.
5. Valmistele siirappi: Kiehauta vesi ja sokeri kattilassa. Lisää appelsiinimehu ja raastettu appelsiinin kuori. Anna siirapin jäähtyä.
6. Kumoa valmiit babat vuoistaan ja kasta ne varovasti siirapissa. Lisää ruokalusikallinen rommia siirappiin ja anna babojen maustua hetki ennen tarjoilua.
